Multi Species Research Group

2018-present

Research Group and Publication

A space for thinking, sharing and learning for anyone who has an artistic, research or thinking practice that relates to interspecies entanglement (the definition of which is always up for discussion).

It involves group meetings, a publication that brought together 20 artists, writers and magical beings, a performance night in which 8 artists who contributed to the publication shared their work in a live form at SET Dalston in November 2019, a series of instagram takeovers and now, virtual meetings.

The group is a growing and morphing community with a growing list of contributors and collaborators. I founded the group in 2018 and continue to run the administration, facilitation of meetings and publication production. During lockdown we have held (almost) weekly meetings on topics that orbit concerns of interspecies dynamics during a pandemic.

As well as a community for discussion and developing research, the project centres the importance of care and mutual aid. It also challenges hierarchies of language and education. It hopes to be a positive and generative breeding ground for ideas.

The project continues as a publication and online resource network.  We organise through a facebook group  and instagram account.
