36 Contactable Lifeforms

2020 GALERIE LADØNS , Hamburg

36 contactable lifeforms is an on going research project and collaboration between artists Nina Kuttler, Emma Wilson, Holly Hunter and a plethora of microbial lifeforms.

Instigated under the conditions of a global pandemic and lockdown the project brings together responses to a human-centric understanding of communication.

A view through the lens of a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeasts, the imagined soundscape of an alien location, and the cooperative intentions of sugar-eating beings.

What would the terms of communication look like if they were restructured to include unimaginable lifeforms?

The project begins with an exhibition viewable through a window at GALERIE LADØNS Hamburg.
